Saturday May 17, 2025 | 10AM - 12PM
Open to grades 7-12 & Adults
Instructor: Andrea Walker
This workshop led by Andrea Walker is a hands-on opportunity to learn about the nuances of color, mixing clean colors, and avoiding muddy colors with watercolor. We will answer questions like, do I always need to mix colors or should I buy a premade purple paint? What are granulating colors, and how do they affect a mixture? What makes a watercolor truly “transparent” and why does it matter?
This workshop will give you practical tools to use in your artwork and is open to everyone, beginner to professional. We will discuss many colors, and mainly focus on Ultramarine Blue, Phthalo Blue, Cobalt Blue, Quinacridone Scarlet, Quinacridone Magenta, Dioxazine Violet, Lavender, and Lamp Black. All materials are provided by Holbein and Legion Paper, and there will be a drawing for a door prize for those in attendance!
