Annual Scholarship Competition

Saturday, March 13th  is the date of this year's annual scholarship competition at the Middletown Arts Center.  This is an on-the-spot drawing contest for the area's most talented art students.  Prizes are awarded in the form of scholarships to classes held at the Center.

The competition is open to all youth grades 1 through 12 who display artistic ability.  We would appreciate your help by strongly urging your students to participate. If they can attend art classes here at the center, please make the enclosed registration forms available to them (please duplicate forms as needed). It has been our experience that work submitted from a successful lesson plan is usually superior to work a youth may choose to submit on his/her own. The following steps must be followed:

1.         Each student who wants to enter should submit one small drawing (on 8-1/2 " x 11" paper only) to the Middletown Arts Center, 130 N. Verity Parkway, P.O. Box 441, Middletown, OH 45042, on or before Thursday, February 25th  .  No framed pieces will be accepted.  (We are open Mondays 9-4, Tuesdays through Thursdays 9-9, closed Fridays & Sundays, Saturdays 9-noon.  Submitted artwork will be held and may be retrieved from the Center until the end of April.)

2.         The registration form, which includes the student's name, home address and phone number, school name and grade, must be attached by one piece of tape to the back side of the drawing.  Please do not staple.  We must have the student’s home address, school address & phone number will not be accepted and student will be disqualified.

3.         The Center’s instructors will screen the preliminary work and select 90 students to compete on March 13th  .  Those students will be notified by mail regarding the time schedule for the competition.
